- Watch this Crash Course on the Transatlantic Slave Trade, as well as a TED Talk on what too few textbooks teach us about the Atlantic slave trade, and read the following primary source on The Interesting Life of Olaudah Equiano.
- After having watched the video and read the source, leave a comment and react to the reading. (If you'd like to answer a discussion question, consider this one -- Why might Europeans not be aghast at the conditions upon which they subjected people like Olaudah Equiano?) Try to make it a habit of developing some argument -- one paragraph at least -- that is generative. In other words, watch the video and come up with some evidence-based argument that supports a claim you've generated. This is no different than the argumentative skills you've developed in seminar throughout the year.
NOTE: You should post a comment or reply to someone else's to confirm completion of the work. If you do not post a comment or reply to someone's, then you should be present during this week's Zoom meeting. If you do not comment or attend the Zoom meeting, I'll have to check in with you via email.
