- Read this article in preparation for Wednesday/Thursday's Zoom meeting.
- Watch the video below on the English Civil War, which is a helpful overview of origins and effects of England's civil war, as well as the development of a constitutional monarchy.
- After having watched the video, leave a comment and react to it. Consider these discussion questions: (a) what, in your mind, is the big picture conclusion of the English Civil War? OR (b) how and why is Thomas Hobbes's thinking informed by the English Civil War? Try to make it a habit of developing some argument -- one paragraph at least -- that is generative. In other words, watch the video and come up with some evidence-based argument that supports a claim you've generated. This is no different than the argumentative skills you've developed in seminar throughout the year.
NOTE: You should post a comment or reply to someone else's to confirm completion of the work. If you do not post a comment or reply to someone's, then you should be present during this week's Zoom meeting. If you do not comment or attend the Zoom meeting, I'll check in with you via email.
